
Last week I was invited to speak to some of the social workers, guidance teachers and counsellors who work in our State schools. These individuals lie at the intersection of care and formation, dealing with some of the most vulnerable in our society.
I spoke about certain ethical and societal issues pertaining to the use of AI tools — especially AI companions and social media — by minors, along with the need for having a critical eye when it comes to discerning how, when, and where to adopt AI tools in their profession.
A human-centred and ethics-first approach to adopting AI tools is key.
