Last week I had the privilege of contributing to the IX Congresso Mondiale della Pastorale del Turismo, held in Rome and organised by the Dicastery for Evangelisation together with the Conferenza Episcopale Italiana.
In my intervention, I reflected on the potential benefits of AI tools in the field of pastoral tourism — not only how these tools can assist and enrich our work, but also how they can be implemented in a way that is ethical and faithful to our values.
At the heart of it all, the transmission of faith must remain the fruit of a human encounter. Technology, including AI, should never replace this encounter but rather support and inspire creativity in how we foster it.
