This morning, I had the opportunity to take part in a frank and open discussion with professionals from Youth Services Malta and Second Chance.
The session brought together social workers, youth workers and other professionals who work with some of the most challenging cases involving vulnerable youths from across the country.
Our discussion focused on some of the difficulties they are encountering, particularly around online manipulation, social isolation and AI companions.
I was very happy to contribute by offering insights into how certain AI tools function, and what ethical and social effects to look out for.
Beyond academia, this is where the rubber hits the road, and it is both a duty and a joy to help these professionals help others.
