Malta currently lacks a standardized AI curriculum in schools, leaving a critical gap in education. In response, Fr Jean has launched short professional training sessions for teachers in church schools, focusing on the essential skills needed to introduce AI tools in classrooms. Together with the Pastoral Formation Institute (PFI), they are developing a nationally accredited course to equip teachers with the proficiency required to use AI tools effectively. This ensures teachers remain ahead of technological developments.
Additionally, in partnership with the Secretariat for Catholic Education, Fr Jean contributing to the preparation of a pilot project for primary and secondary schools. This initiative introduces students to AI tools—highlighting their capabilities and limitations—while fostering a safe and informed approach to technology from an early age.
