Social workers definitely fall into the category of ‘unsung heroes’ in our communities. In very different ways they work with those people who, for some reason or other, have either fallen through the cracks of our society or whose wellbeing is at risk.
So naturally when the Maltese Association of Social Workers asked me to deliver a session for them I wholeheartedly accepted.
We spoke about the societal changes AI is bringing about – especially with regards to our relationships – and how this might affect the people they meet, especially those who are vulnerable. We also touched upon certain wider ethical debates that surround AI more generally. But we also discussed how certain tools can empower them to be more effective in their profession. A full house and an engaging discussion.
