The Archdiocese of Malta has become one of the first dioceses, if not the first, to publish a diocesan position statement on AI.
In this document, we have sought to adapt and apply the Magisterial teachings of the Church on AI to the local and national context of Malta.
Through this statement, the Church continues its longstanding mission of service to society, helping all people on their journey towards authenticity, flourishing and meaning.
Pope Leo XIV’s call to action in his recent Message for World Social Communication Day is also ours: to be responsible, to educate and to collaborate.
This document is another step in that direction, and an important contribution to the ongoing conversation around AI, ethics and society.
