These past two days I’ve taken up a new role as the Holy See’s representative at the Council of Europe’s Committee on AI (CAI). During the Plenary we discussed bringing the Framework Convention on AI closer to becoming ratified. We also discussed the formation of model toolkits that can help AI practitioners ensure that the tools and systems they create respect the fundamental values of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
It’s encouraging to see so many countries working together for this important goal, and an honour to be part of the Church’s active contribution in this field.
