Overview

As a Research Affiliate at the AI and Humanity Lab at the University of Hong Kong, Fr Jean Gové’s research focuses on philosophical issues in AI, specifically those relating to philosophy of mind, language, and epistemology. His current interest is in epistemology of testimony as it relates to large language models (LLMs) and the broader implications of AI-generated information. Additionally, he is also working on AI manipulation, examining how AI systems can be used by human agents to influence user behavior or potentially act manipulatively on their own. His work explores areas such as recommendation algorithms, gamification techniques, and anthropomorphic AI, addressing the ethical and philosophical challenges these technologies present.
